Money tops list of worries for Irish

A recent study commissioned by Royal London has found that twice as many people in Ireland worry about ‘money’ compared to ‘health.

Joe Charles, head of proposition at Royal London said financial issues topped the poll as the most common cause of worry.

“While there have been notable changes to the results of the survey over the past four years, unsurprisingly, money has topped the list of worries consistently for the Irish public.

“Health comes second while family follows at third.”

The survey found that while 39% of people claimed money is their biggest source of worry, 36% are focused on making health-related improvements.

It also found women (17%) worry more about family that men (14%); men are more likely to be troubled by relationships than women (7% compared to 4%); and 41% of respondents over 55 are more likely to view health as their key worry.

Interestingly, the study showed 44% of 18-34-year olds and 41% of 35-54-year olds worry about money, compared to just 23% of those aged 55+.
