Hennelly Finance rolled out the sweet treats and the chance to win a spot prize to help raise money for ACT for Meningitis on Friday 5 October.
The coffee morning fundraiser was held at Hennelly Finance’s head office in Bearna where customers and visitors enjoyed tea and coffee, delicious baked goods and insight from Siobhan Carroll from ACT for Meningitis who spoke about the charity’s support services for survivors of meningitis and bereaved families, her personal experience, and the signs and symptoms for Meningitis.
There were a range of spot prizes up for grabs such as a voucher for The Twelve Hotel, perfume from McSharrys Pharmacy, make-up application with award-winning international makeup artist Miss Mercy worth €125, and a selection of children books from professional writing service WriteMe, €100 worth of tech support from Computer Troubleshooters, and a voucher for dinner at O’Grady’s on the Pier. Winners included Sinead Folan of Barna (Afternoon Tea in the Ardilaun Hotel), Christopher Lynskey of Shantalla (an online training voucher), Naomi Flynn of Knocknacarra (five sessions with Oxygeneration worth €675), and Niamh Hall of Moycullen (dinner voucher for The Quays).
ACT for Meningitis provides a valuable community service to raise awareness and educate society of the signs and symptoms of Meningitis. It also provides free support services in Ireland to those affected by the disease.
