Irish Life Health has recently written to customers to advise that an agreement has been reached between the HSE and most private hospitals to provide extra capacity to support the public health system during the current Covid-19 emergency.
The health insurer however does expect private treatment to continue in private hospitals while this new agreement is in place. In some cases, some procedures that were due to be carried out in public hospitals for private health insurance members may be redirected to private hospitals.
Irish Life Health is very supportive of the agreement as part of the national strategy to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 and will continue to keep all customers informed about any further changes.
